With America's Independence Day on upon us, we are reminded of our fight for freedom from England. The War for Independence was based largely on the premise of "No Taxation Without Representation," meaning law abiding, tax-paying citizens should have all civic freedoms.
Recently, I have received criticism about donations made to my campaign by citizens who have been investigated in the past for one reason or another. I don't believe we should ever take away a citizen's civic voice, especially when they have not been charged with nor convicted of any crime. This would be a violation of Constitutional principles which should be upheld in all circumstances.
This Fourth of July, please join me in celebrating the freedoms we have as Americans. Let us remember who we are so that we will not forget what we can become.
